View from the Brothel
My friend Claudia lives in the house which was the first brothel in Nelson, also known as the Pink House. She happily posed for me in front of the window overlooking The Cut. I have shots with her wonderful face, too, but she looked too happy, so I chose a 'shady' one. Afterwards, we went to the Sculpture Gala, part of Nelson Arts Festival.

There's a nice restaurant down here in Williamstown that also used to be a brothel. Heard some great stories. Still, the foods good now! Nicely shot, good composition.
ReplyDeleteLovely shady lady!
ReplyDeleteI remember going to a restaurant that used to be a brothel in a couple of cities - Duluth, Minnesota might have been one. That house is so easily spotted from the sea, though, I'd imagine, to the point they could have made bookings from calling out from the boats!
ReplyDelete"too happy" ? lol
ReplyDeletehmmm..first brothel, anything like the moulin rouge?
Nah, Kris, not at all - strickly-business kind of place I'd igmagine, but who knows? Claudia is really a cheerful, happy person, though she tells me she lived near a brothel in operatioin somewhere in Europe before, too. She's in fashion, so I wonder if there is a colleration.
ReplyDeletePiika, brothels are one of those intriguing places with lots of stories, that's for sure.
