Plan B

And this is Plan B that's at the bookshop now. Ben had some fun photographing it, while I test drove Plan A as a collar at a girl's only Potluck dinner on Sunday.

Plan A

It's like this. Our local bookshop Page and Blackmore is hosting a Really Wild Tea Cosy competition. So I carded, spun and began to knit a tea cosy. It was my first time carding, first time completing spinning to create passable skeins, and my first ever knitting project.

Well, the tea cosy got bigger and bigger, and it was knitting about twice as wide as it was supposed to be, so I had to come up with Plan B, which I'm delivering to the bookshop right about now.

This thing, though, is made of delicious merino, so I'm either going to wear it as a collar/cowl, or close the top end and make it into a wee hat.

Perhaps this is happening to you, too?

Google Alert has been alerting us of our DP being picked up by this website in Malaysia. Ben has written to Eko Prasetyo at raiderhost.com requesting disassociation, but the email did not reach the intended address, we are told. As the site contains adult content photos, we are would rather not be associated with the said website, but what can we do... We're out there in this webby wide world.

Dang.

Carding

There are so many words for the fluff stage of fiber: sliver, roving, pencil roving, rolag, and I can't remember what other ones I've forgotten. They relate to a stage or a style of spinning of one's preference. It's all fluff to me, but lovely fluff. I think I finally know that "fleece" does not belong to this group of words, but you can correct me on that, too.

Red Tunnel

I'm liking this old manual lens (OM Zuiko Auto-S 50mm F1.2).
Actually, this make me to take my Nikon FM2n ( film camera) from cabinet.  I may put a roll of file through...

I'll moved on to another subject tomorrow.

Autumnal Inside and Out

My attempt at mixing colors on the carder and spinning, and very bravely, even knitting. It's hard for "imports" in a country where, I swear, even smart cats can spin and knit.

Bumper Crop

We have a fig tree right outside our office window. The tree is so tall all the fruits are reserved for birds, as we can't reach any of them. There are years when we have many fruits, and other years when we have big fruits, but this year we had a bumper crop of many big fruits. Our bird-watching season usually last around 2-3 weeks, but this week it's gone on around 6, I think.

The yellow was eyes are the most vicious and most years we watch them chase away all others, but this year because of the abundance, they are sharing. This winter, when all the leaves are gone, we have to trip this tree severely, so we get a little bit of a view and some sun.

Toy Camera - Film 3-23

Sun is going down, but this is too bright for this camera.  I could hand hold my ND filter in front but I did not carry one at the time.

Toy Camera - Film 3-5 (Theme Day : Statues)

Strictly speaking... This is not a statue, but this is the only close one to go to the theme day within the set of my toy camera series.
