One Afternoon at the Beach

This is a typical evening scene at Tahunanui Beach in this time of the year. People enjoy their evening beach works while others kite-surf.

Tahunanui Beach is the kite surfing capital of NZ. Although it is too little close to the flight path, being virtually next door to the airport.

I was waiting this moment that many kite surfers were out there.

  9. In most of your shot the sky plays quite a prominent role, and you have your very special way with it. Not an easy feat. In this shot you managed to capture a unique moment of lightness sky, kites, clouds ...

    Fantastic!

  11. Thank you Lachezar,
The sky, cloud is one of my life long themes. I always fascinated how interesting they are. So, I'm trying to capture moment when ever they are talking to me. The kite surfing is another topic that I wanted to capture since last year, but not always be at a good time.

    Thank you Zsolt72,
It was amazingly not so windy, high up in air might but I did not feel too much wind on that day.

  15. Greetings from Greece. Your photo reminds me of the beaches here that I was swimming all the summer. Now, the summer goes south and you will have sun and warmth. Have fun and keep posting these beautiful pics.

  18. Thanks Kala!
The kite has some genius mechanism to not get tangled.
Well, I do not quite know how but, I think it has two or three wires connected to the harness and free turn at surfer's side.
I'll have a close look if I had a chance.
