And The Winner Is...

This is a vegetable shop at Stoke.  We often go to the Nelson shop but we discovered a good routine. (I hope it sticks to us)  Take the airport walk in the morning and go to the butcher and buy some meat and stop here to buy fresh vegetables.

B Block

Some arts class was held here. NMIT Has new Arts And Media block and that is very modern and great facility.   This is one of the oldest building in campus and I think it has a character.

Sun Dog

Took this on Saturday and posted to other blog
Our ISP is cutting us off or somewhat we can not connect.  A line is OK just not connecting to their service.  Account is still active, though.  So, I'm reposting this as I can not upload my new photo.

A Bunny Leaps Over Waimea Inlet

Saturday evening.  He's a bunny because I say so.  Ahem!

As of about 12 minutes ago, we were supposed to get hit by two previously-named but subsequently-downgraded tropical storms.  We have a good view to the West and Southwest from our living room so I was really looking forward to these, but so far, it's just steady rain, not even heavy.  I'm readddddy!!!

New / Old / New-Old

Ben bought this Holga 60mm lens thing and had been going on about a new photographic experiment on the weekend. It took me a while to understand the fuss/fun, but I did a little experimentation of my own shooting a weaving sample.
I enjoyed the very personal involvement of making a picture.

The setup. Ben was lighting a small flashlight from bottom right of the this picture.

Have a look a Ben's write-up on his facebook page here and here. He is also starting some series posting at another blog and here in Nelson Daily Photo.

Music Store Slogan for Christmas Sale

This is taken few days go just before they wash this sigh up from their show window. I use Digital camera but with Plastic Holga lens. It has this fuzziness because it is really had to nail the focus in manual with dimmed vie finder. The Vignette is added because that what I wanted as a effect but I'm still working on final result. This is a preview series with this lens.

Urbanized

When we go for a walk on Tahunanui Beach, we park the car at the entrance of the beach.  We were vaguely aware that over the years there have been work done in the area to increase parking, children's playground, and  organized footpaths, as well as fences around and signs restricting access to the sand dunes.

Still, yesterday I was dumbstruck with the amount of work having gone in in the last little while.  The area is more "decorated", more picnic benches and at least one barbecue station installed where we used to pick pine cones.  Overall, it's lost the "walk/sit where you want" feel, but I guess that's development.

Both are moving in the same direction.  The airline is going to the runway for take off and this little fellow is coming and also preparing for take off on the smaller runway.

The Other Side

From the Nelson AirPort Walkway, you can look at the other side of the bay.  Looks so close from here and I think that is the part of the Able Tasman National Park.

Theme Day: Photo of the year 2010

Submerged!  (3rd/July/2010)
BW version here

When you are walking around, sometimes you could find a very odd thing like this.
The sign was dropped off from the little bridge by the strong gust in previous day. It's such a humours situation and this reminds me that I need to go out walking more.

In 2010, I had a Toy Camera and posting as a series. That was fun and it brings me back to the film photography for while and still...  Well, digital is much easier and saving a lot of time, but I find myself thinking about subject more than just snapping. It just a different mentality, I guess.

The Nelson Daily Photo will be continue to be a part of City Daily Photo Family and we are very proud of it.

Happy new year everyone and I wish all of you have a great 2011!
