Holy Cow!

He is made out of a huge tree stump in the middle of paddock. What an excellent work!

    Over the past few blogging months, I've come to realise that everywhere in the world, it seems the cow has some mystical, sacred status. Holy cow indeed! It is immortalised, feted - dead or alive. AND we mostly seem to like eating it/drinking from it too. It is incredible.Cowparades, monuments, then there are the bull runs.....
    This lady at least gets to live out her time in a stunning natural environment. How old, do you know?

    Humorous title for an excellent shot and an incredible piece of work. Is the cow actually carved in that particular tree stump ? How visible is it from the road ? I hope this fun piece is not only for the other cows to enjoy and lots of people get to see it. From what I gather, it isn't used to sell or advertise anything, is it?

    I think it curved directory on stump, but I haven’t cross the fence and examined closely. Honestly, I do not know if that is curved somewhere and put there.

    It is quite noticeable from the road, in fact, you can’t miss it.

    I also think it is varnished or some sort of protect coat on the surface, other wise Nelson's direct sun turns it grey colour quite quickly.

    As Kris said, it could be a bull (I'm not going to start if it is bull or cow), but I wanted that catch so it is. I haven't spoken to (even I do not know) actual artist, so I could not check...
