Kererū

Or wood pigeon, just outside my office. This guy's wings were so noisy when he came over. See this Wiki entry for more detail about this bird and better photos.

A few days ago we had ice down south and tornadoes in the Waikato; yesterday it was torrential rain and flood in the top half of the North Island; today, no power, no phone. Parts of Northland flooded in March and just finished repairing all the damage. Here in Nelson, well, we had a bit of low temperature. This is what the clouds looked like yesterday. (The white line shows the top half of North Island.)
