Cathedral, Musicians and Fish
A lovely cafe, Broccoli Row, was closed and its backyard garden/eating area turned into yet another uninteresting office block. Men are busily rushing to finish it, rushing past me, leaving cement footprints and oily residue on the footpath.
I hope you hose down the lovely manhole cover before you go away!

Wave and Cloud
At Rabbit Island, we had quite a good shooting session with waves and lots of interesting clouds.
Oya, we asked Mr Akbaba about the travel route, and the answer was, (and he uses Singapore Airlines): Istanbul - Dubai - Singapore - Auckland or Christchurch - Nelson, and he recommends overnighting in Singapore. It sounds like it's a very far away place, doesn't it!

Nimo's Mates
I watched "Finding Nimo" for the first time just last week, and a few days later when I found these guys, I couldn't stop giggling. Here's an eye-popper.
Happy Valentine's Day, folks.

Sentinel
"Sentinel sails in the Queens Gardens pond. The steel sculpture was inspired by the base of the Nikau palm frond and refers to the waka and ships which brought waves or people to Aotearoa New Zealand. In 1998 work by Dominique de Borrekens and Grant Scott honouirs the Nelson settlers who planted these beautiful gardens over 100 years ago," according to the map.
And you caught me out; I just uploaded the photo intending to write about it latter, and instead of saving as draft, I published it. Sooooo... now the details.

Queen's Gardens Back Hardy Street Gate
The house across the street has crated a fence out of old sewing machine parts. It's the red bits above the green-painted bricks.
(I do have a close-up taken last August here. Not a very good one, but you get the idea.)

Theme Day: What Really Annoys Me in Nelson
I'm really struggling to find something to post today's theme day. In the morning of 29 January (Nelson Anniversary Day), I found this smashed bus stop shelter. All the glass was smashed. No, it's not an accident but obviously vandalism of some sort. This is the second time I have seen this kind of vandalism in Nelson in past 10+ years. So it's not that bad problem, but it gives me a really bad feeling. The positive side, the pattern of crack on the glass is quite amazing. It looks like art, as if the artist has intentionally done this and framed the broken glass. Well, do not do this to the public (and private) property.
