Nelson's popular A Capella group The Nancies had the last (for the time being, we hope) gig tonight at the Boathouse, due to our friend Kath Bee leaving Nelson to extend her career in Auckland and beyond. The venue was packed with appreciative audience.
The good news is, the gig was recorded live and will be made into a CD. If you are interested, email Kath; she won't be on line for a while as she's leaving on the 2 O'Clock ferry tomorrow, but she will make sure she or someone will be in touch with you.
We wish you all the very very best, Kath.
It's a good stage photo. Those yellow and orange stage lights gave some warm colour effect. It was a good gig.
ReplyDeleteIt's very sad to see this group to be on leave for while but we know it's good for Kath. I hope they will play again sometime soon, when Kath made her home town visit.
I don't have any more friends who's happy to sit in the middle of my laundry and just drink water when I don't have anything else to serve, and laugh our heads off together... Boo hoo.
ReplyDeleteNobody to translate text messages to me, either. Boo hoo.
ReplyDeleteI like the photo. Not having heard of the Nancies, what kind of music to they perform?
ReplyDeleteA mixture, Jacob. From the Beatles to Diana Ross to the oldies, a lot of easy listening standards, but about half (?) are written by Kath Bee on the far right or Jane Fisher on the far left.
ReplyDeleteLast night they even included old New Zealand jingles, too, of which we only knew one, but they were a hoot!
But. But. But.
ReplyDeleteKath PROMISED that they'd sing at our housewarming.....
That she did. You might have to book it in and fly her back!
