Bruce Mitchell / Sculptor

I have received very sad message from Arts Council Neslon , today. It is very sad to tell to the world that our very respected sculptor in our region has passed away.

I do love his work in Nelson CBD such as Southern Cross and the Victory as in picture.

This flowers were already there, when I went out to take a picture of his work.

Snow?

It's almost the middle of October, and the last, 4th school term of the year starts today. And we have a fresh dump of snow over the hills. Southerlies, (wind from the south which is the cold one for us) is gong to blow today, but through gritted teeth I still insist it's much warmer than last year, as I head outside to meddle in the garden. Brrr....

Apple

Quick snap in the back yard.   This is an apple flower, it's all most full blossom after our main cherry blossom is nearly all gone.

KFC

It has been open since 7th/Oct ( as far as I noticed). We get someone landed on our site asking Google "when does kfc nelson open" and similar. So here goes and this is how it looks like.

IMHO, their new drive through route is not a good design, because it's peak time and long queue no one can enter to the parking lot without wait on the same queue.entrance.

Big Fat Babies

In Japan, growing orchids is a part time job, a labor of love interspersed with a leap of faith. In New Zealand, even an attention-deficit non-gardener such as myself can reap the benefits of occasional loving. This year, they are particularly fat and juicy. Good girls.

Water!

Compare to this. I took this from same place, and this is different angle when the bridge was still under construction.

This is last Thursday (30/Sep/2010) at Maitai River after heavy rain.  From the second photo, you can see how much water was at one point.  Those walking path had been covered completely!

This bench is obviously mostly covered by water.

Theme Day: Graffiti

Proudly present.... A "Graffiti" by the nature.

I could only think of this one around where I usually go, but I already featured them twice on NDP.  So, I decided to make a twist.   This was a result of heavy rain yesterday and my cherry tree released its flower petals so quickly...
