After the Christchurch Earthquake (2011) and Kaikoura Earthquake (2016) some buildings in Nelson CBD were condemned and taken down. More recently, some which passed muster in the earlier rounds have been deemed unsafe, and they have been coming down. Here, there used to be a clothing factory, (I'm sorry I can't remember the names of the building nor the business;) I remember buying a sewing machine part that I needed for a weaving bobbin winder. Collingwood Street end of Bridge Street.
