Volume, the best small bookshop in this galaxy, is on Church Street.
Nelson City Council began the process of upgrading Church St, dubbing it the Bohemian District, and one of the first jobs was to locate the infrastructure underground. Something went wrong, leaving Volume without power first, then a generator behind a wall kicking in, causing, and here I paraphrase, a hum so loud they couldn't hear themselves think. Oh, the perils of good bookselling.
