When we go for a walk on Tahunanui Beach, we park the car at the entrance of the beach. We were vaguely aware that over the years there have been work done in the area to increase parking, children's playground, and organized footpaths, as well as fences around and signs restricting access to the sand dunes.
Still, yesterday I was dumbstruck with the amount of work having gone in in the last little while. The area is more "decorated", more picnic benches and at least one barbecue station installed where we used to pick pine cones. Overall, it's lost the "walk/sit where you want" feel, but I guess that's development.
Fascinating entrance.
