Breather...

Lest you think envying dough hooks is all I did, no way; on Friday at L'Artisan Bakery we bought a Swiss Zopf loaf, pastries, and the nuttiest brownies for the weekend. Then we walked over to the cafe for lunch; we got the coffee first, but managed to not pick on the goodies before our food came.

And may I say, three cheers to a bakery uses loads of real butter and sugar. You have to enjoy life, sometimes.

Hooked

As someone who has coveted a KitchenAid mixer with a dough hook for ages but hasn't got one yet, (and also a new washer and a dryer, and a comfortable couch, but I guess the garden shredder is coming first?) I had a serious dough hook envy at L'Artisan Bakery at Founders Park on Friday. The bakery these days are "manned" by Julie's son Charlie most days; he or the Mrs (??) can also be found at the Wednesday market at Fashion Island.

Breathtaking, yes?

Ian Longley Workshops

One of Nelson's favorite stone carvers, Ian Longley, converted the back of his shop into a workshop/classroom, and began teaching stone carving. One day workshops are held on Mondays, (and you go home with a finished pendant), and a six week course runs on Tuesday evenings. We warned him we're coming for the latter next winter, as I have a few textile-related workshops coming up from now to the end of the year.

Ian Longley, Concepts in Stone, is located at Founders Park, 87 Atawhai Drive, Nelson Phone 03-548-2901 or 027-687-0072 or email Longley@xtra.co.nz for more information.

Upstairs

I don't know if it's an office in the marking, but I didn't see anyone in the upstairs of this Panel beater shop, either working, nor working on the partitions (??). Perhaps it's an art installation.

Priorities

Since I started working at home some years ago, one of the things I've tried to do is to not waste food, although there is half a red cabbage in the drawer at bottom right which has resided in the spot a tad too long. But we have our priorities right; we are always on standby to celebrate anything.

Flax

This is a morning due. It's getting really cold and some part of my gardens/driveway is getting frost as I posted a picture yesterday.
I took this picture on the same morning at where sun is shining to.  No frosty ice, but rather fresh morning due is there.

This is new building construction site for Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology- Arts and Media Studies".

It's a great wooden structured building and now in front of it there is small inhibition going on.
