Spring is definitely here and it's been sunny and beautiful outside, though at times still a bit chilly. I've had the good fortune of a museum shop being interested in some of my work, which has kept me locked up in the basement. I still love what I do, but I can really use a break to go out and enjoy our... weed garden/nature reserve.
Lachezar of Auckland got tired of waiting for pics of my newest pieces, he's taken off on a three-week holiday!
Daniel from Christchurch is now in the loop; we're fans of his bloky photos. And Ben found a new Christchurch DP this morning by Michelle. Chch is further down the Mainland, (that's what we call the South Island, seriously!), and is dubbed the Garden City.
ohh this is so beautiful. I was always curious of your secret tools:) And I am sure the museum's shop will be very busy soon:)
ReplyDeleteInteresting.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot.I like the colors and the composition.
Thanks for visiting. This is kind of the driving seat of my big 16-shaft loom. I've taken the front part off to tie on the warp threads. Kind of my inner sanctum.
ReplyDeleteI like taking pictures of my processes and tools and perhaps that'll make interesting material for NDP, not just for my weaving records.
Thanks for your comments.
It's a wonderful photo, Meg, and I'm pleased to hear that your talent is recognized!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see someone weaving.I took a weaving class in art school and loved it. I hope your work sells well at the museum store.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visits, folks. I'm feeling a bit drained because the deadlines have come just one immediately after the other, and I don't want to weave 2 of the same or 3 of very similar stuff. However, a weaver's gotta do what a weaver's gotta do!
ReplyDeleteThis is the tool for you to weave with. I saw a couple of pictures of your work, and they are really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sunkyong.
ReplyDeletewooow, I can really feel this space. The photo reminds me of my video editing suite (knobs bottons and confusion) and the emotional drama I go through to get things moving. Is it hard to sit in that seat and commit to the operation? Keep up the great work the results are inspiring.
ReplyDeleteHi, Daniel. This is the comfy chair I rescued from the back of my friend Trish's car - she was taking it to the tip. It's circa 1960 and a perfect match to our house, and is low, and just the right color, but recently I've found out that it's kind of versatile around the loom because of its unique size and construction. One day I'm going to weave and have this reupholstered.
