I noticed the sky looked like the start of The Simpsons cartoon show, (really simple blue and yellow,) but I couldn't find the camera and by the time I came back to the living room, I was too late.
We had dramatic weather up and down the country today due to ex-Tropical Cyclone Fehi. In Nelson, two iconic waterfront properties were damaged. More may come to light tomorrow. Elsewhere there were fires due to drought conditions declared/extended earlier in the week. This summer certainly has been extreme, with January the hottest ever recorded. Much of the country could not see the full blue-blood moon, as I understand, because it was too soon to this storm, and high tide tonight at 11.20 PM may cause some more flooding.
