And an unafraid one; Ben said in his normal voice, "Meg, Tui," and it did not even flinch. Then Ben dropped the barbie lid and still no reaction. He's been feasting on our fig tree among smaller and less photogenic birds, too, I think.

These guys were digging holes and then filling in with gravel at the top of the driveway we share with nine other homes this morning. No more buffering, in a few months?

Last Night Around 8

The New Zealand ( bag)Pipe Band national championship is taking place Friday and Saturday. One group is staying so near us I can hear the dry drumming. They practiced until after eight last night and resumed a little after nine this morning. And I can't get enough of it. This was me hanging out of the window trying to decide where the music came from. And, oh, we had pretty clouds.

6.15AM

Ben had to go to a meeting in Wellington this morning, and I've been up since a little after 5. At 6.15, with breakfast done, I thought I'd try the Starry Sky option on my camera. In real life the lights aren't anywhere near as numerous nor bright. And it's a tad too early to get out to weed.

Rain then...

Quite heavy rain yesterday and some in early this morning.

The Rocks Road, on the water front, is closed or limited access.



It is expected with those rain but It may be opened by now...  


Well we have another blue sky covering over our head now.
