Weather-wise, it was a wet weekend, interspersed with moments of un-wetness. Snow expected in places further south, or did I hear that incorrectly?

Tree with Scales

Someone is bound to know what type of tree this is, but it has scales, and it's not sick.  It's the big tree in front of our courthouse, and I always admired the size and the shape, but I never paid attention to the trunks before Friday.

My "Would Have Been" Twin

My would-have-been twin May. Ronette was going to name her Meg, but thought I might not like it, so she was going to be Maisey, but ended up being named May.  If you go anywhere near the car, her Big Sister Molly, (a slightly smaller dog with clearer coloration,) comes to the fore and May waits in the background, so this was the first picture I got of May alone. 

In addition to the more famous commemorations worldwide, today marks six months from the quake, tsunami and the start of the nuclear catastrophe in Northern Japan.  We worry winter is fast approaching to that very cold region.

We discuss Theme Day themes a lot, though the onus is almost always on Ben to go get the shots, and his take is almost always different from mine.  And since I am over 25cm shorter than him, we can't help looking at the world with different perspectives, can we?

Lock and Key

It was only when I came around to this side and stepped back enough that the locked luggage cart made sense.  Ben thinks he's posted this before in NDP, but I don't remember it, and that's the story I'm sticking with. Do you remember seeing this cart?
