Weka amongst our Weeds

At around 30cm tall, this is was baby/child weka. They have a strange, low, drum-like call, which is nice if you can hear them. They are unafraid of humans and I don't like them, my first encounter having been with an aggressive adult (45-60cm) about 18 months ago, but our weedy property must provide them an excellent cover.

Wild Fire

A chili from our wild garden.   

It has grown very well and got bunch.  
Each one is about 13~15cm long, quite fresh heat fascistic for any spicy food lovers.

Easy to grown - well proven by us.
